How to Read Football Odds: Decimal, Fractional & American Explained

The three formats

  • Decimal (3.50) — Europe & MoBet default. Return = stake × odds.
  • Fractional (5/2) — UK. Profit = stake × (5/2).
  • American (+250) — US. Positive = profit per $100; negative = stake for $100 profit.

Conversion cheatsheet

Fractional → Decimal: (num/den) + 1
American +N → Decimal: (N/100) + 1
American -N → Decimal: (100/N) + 1

Implied probability

1 / decimal odds × 100 = %

Once you read odds as probabilities, you'll never misjudge a price again.
